In Maine, the Syracuse Crunch took down the Portland Pirates by a 3-1 final. Tanner Richard, Mike Angelidis, and Yanni Gourde had goals for the Crunch while Adam Wilcox had a solid 29 save effort. However, the real headlines for the Crunch came off the ice. They signed goaltender Nicola Riopel late yesterday afternoon and then traded veteran defenseman Joey Mormina to the Rochester Americans in exchange for future considerations during their game with Portland. The Crunch remain on the road tonight, facing off with Springfield at 7pm.
Finally, the Syracuse Chiefs revealed their new jerseys for the upcoming 2016 at their open house this morning. They go inline with their new red, white, and blue color scheme. They can be viewed at the following link: http://www.syracuse.com/chiefs/index.ssf/2016/03/what_do_the_syracuse_chiefs_new_jerseys_look_like.html#incart_river_home. The Chiefs open their 2016 campaign on Thursday, April 7th as they host the Leigh Valley Iron Pigs at 2pm.
