In the past week, Syracuse FC has been busy filling out their roster in time for the start of the inaugural NPSL season. Their latest signings all are familiar faces to Syracuse soccer fans. Slavisa Ubiparipovic, Ben Ramin, and Logan Roberts, all from the Syracuse Silver Knights, have signed on with Syracuse FC for the 2017 campaign. Ubiparipovic, know as a magician when it comes to free kicks, tallied 16 goals and 20 assists with the Silver Knights this year while Ramin contributed 2 blocks. Ramin is also well known in the youth soccer community, constantly acting as a coach during youth clinics hosted by the Silver Knights. Logan Roberts joined the Syracuse Silver Knights late in the 2016-17 season after a stellar college career at Binghamton University and high school career at Cicero-North Syracuse. In high school, Roberts scored a total of 25 goals and 28 assists, which was followed by earning an spot in the American East All Tournament team during his junior year of college. Syracuse FC's first match is on May 20th at OCC when they square off with AFC Cleveland at 7pm. Down I-90, Silver Knight Kenardo Forbes is off to a fast start with the Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer League. After grabbing one assist in the Rhinos first four games, Forbes netted a penalty kick goal in the Rhinos' 4-0 stomping of the Charlotte Independence in the Flower City this past Saturday. They are back in action on the road against St. Louis this coming Saturday. |
