In Syracuse, York has only been between the pipes for 12 games. That's extremely little time to impress both scouts and fans. He has played back-up to several great goalies over his brief career. Yes, in his 12 appearances, he only has three wins, but he can not totally be blamed. Really, none of the goalies for the Crunch over the past two seasons can been solely blamed for the team's terrible outcomes. If you ask me, York hasn't had great defenses nor offenses to help him win games. He wouldn't have let in so many goals if the defense in front of him had just played better and prevented shots from coming through in the first place. On the other end of the ice, the Crunch offense has struggled to score goals and give their goalies a cushion to play with throughout games and seasons. How can you expect to win if you can't score?
Honestly, I think York is a great signing for the Crunch. He is still young but has plenty of experience as an AHL journeyman to help the Crunch between the pipes and hopefully clinch some important wins this coming season. I think Crunch fans will regret doubting him in the very near future.
